The Tidy Towns group would like to thank all those who helped us during the year including those who kept the front of their premises clean and neat and those who put flowering pots outside their windows which made our streets beautifully colourful during the Summer.
Also those who baked and supported our Cake sale a big thank you.
We look forward to continuing our work next year making our village a clean and pleasant place to live and work in.
We will hold our Annual After Mass Collection on Saturday the 1st October after 7pm Mass in St. Joseph’s church and after 12midday Mass in St. Colman’s on Sunday 2nd October. All donations are appreciated.
As judging of the Tidy Towns competition has now commenced we are appealing to everyone to please do not leave litter on the ground. Use your own Bin for domestic rubbish and encourage your children to put sweet wrappers etc. in the Bins at the shop where you purchase these items. If we all support these simple measures our town can be the most beautiful place to live and relax in.
Following on the success of the previous Clean Up and the great numbers who turned up we are having a second Big Clean Up on this coming Saturday the 11th June. Please meet at the Community Centre at 11am and if you are late come and look for us. We will be doing a litter collection of the approach roads to Kinvara. All welcome.
As judging of the Tidy Towns competition is starting on 14th June we appeal to everyone to just keep the front of your own premises or house neat and tidy. Thank you.
The Tidy Towns will hold their Annual Cake Sale on Friday 3rd June from 1pm-5pm at the front of Londis. Your support would be appreciated. If you can bake or buy it would be much appreciated.
Following the great success of the last Big Clean-Up day the Tidy Towns group are holding another Clean Up on Saturday 11th June from 11am-2pm. Please meet at the Community Centre at 11am. Gloves, pickers and hi-vis jackets will be provided.
Tidy Towns are doing lots of planting at present and as plants are expensive we would encourage sustainable methods so if you are splitting your plants or have spare bulbs, all donations can be left at the Community Centre.
The Tidy Towns group have been trying to find ways of dealing with the number of waste and recycling bags that are left out on the side of the road or the paths on the incorrect days. Barna Waste collect bags in Kinvara and the surrounding areas on alternate Wednesdays. Unfortunately people are leaving bags out on any day of the week from Sunday onwards. Putting your bags out more than 12 hours prior to collection leads to littering. Also please do not leave your bag outside someone else’s house.
Please do not leave out your bags any other day except Wednesday alternate weeks only.
If you are interested in helping with weeding, planting, painting, and keeping our town clean and tidy come and join us. We meet every Tuesday morning in the meeting room of the Community Centre at 10am and all are welcome. We do a litter collection every Tuesday and Saturday mornings and meet at the Community Centre at 9am. When the weather gets warmer we will do weeding and planting sessions on Tuesday evenings and weekends.
If you would like to ‘adopt a flowerbed’ which you would weed and plant with our support, please get in touch and we will be happy to facilitate you. Alternatively ‘adopt a road or area’ which you can be responsible for keeping litter free? If you would like to be kept up to date with our activities find us on Facebook at ‘K3 KinVARA 3 YEAR PLAN’. Or send a message to email@example.com.
