Tommy Baker, storyteller will host another evening of storytelling on 17th November from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Courthouse. The evening is really fun and enjoyable something different! If you feel like listening to a good story or indeed telling one come along.
Last December KAVA celebrated its new home, the Courthouse, with a Postcard Exhibition. It was highly successful and enjoyable and KAVA members exhibited postcard size work which was sold anonymously and all at the one price. To coincide with the Kinvara Christmas Craft Fair and the turning on of the Christmas lights at the pier the exhibition will be officially opened on Friday evening the 2nd December and will be open all day Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th.
Christmas Lights Event will take place this year at 6pm on Saturday 3rd December. Lots of new lighting as well as old favourites performing. Fun for all the family.

This year the fair will take place over 2 weekends – 3rd & 4th and 10th & 11th December from 11am-6pm in the Community Centre. As usual there will be a wide range of local crafts, hot food, mulled wine and mince pies, baking and music. If you’re looking to spend some time in good company while doing your Christmas shopping, drop in and see us. You’ll be very welcome!
A Night of music and stories will take place on Sunday October 16th in Kinvara Community Centre to celebrate the life of local writer Eddie Stack who passed away in July. The event will run from 6-9pm and all are welcome.
Ger Conneely has another performance of THE GREAT PUSH on October 15th at 8.00pm in Ballinderreen Community Centre.

KAVA presents ‘The Seen and The Unseen’, an exhibition of ceramic, sculpture, painting and photography by Bláithín Ní Leannain, Catherine Dunne and William Fulford from 23rd July to 7th August in the Courthouse, Kinvara, Galway. An exhibition of ceramic art by Bláithín Ní Leannain, inspired by the tones and textures of the Atlantic coastline and the Burren, sculpture by William Fulford, inspired by the complexity of the human face and figure as well as painting and photography by Catherine Dunne, inspired by the colours of the Burren and the children’s rhyme ‘The Red Shoes’ takes place in the Courthouse, Kinvara from 23rd July. This exhibition opens on 22nd July, at 8pm and will run from 23rd July to 7th August from 11am to 6pm. KAVA supports and promotes the visual arts and artists in the Kinvara area. Kinvara 1916 centenary committee are participating in the up and coming ‘Farming & Country Life 1916’ being held in Teagasc, Athenry on the 10th & 11th June. This is a free event and will recreate rural life as it was in 1916.

KAVA is hosting a new exhibition of fine art prints by Heidi Reich in June. In this show
the artist asks the question “What do you know about Fine Art Printmaking?”.
“The Fun of Printing” – an exhibition of screenprints, lino-cuts and etchings by Heidi Reich
will be on show in the Kinvara Courthouse from Monday 13th June to Sunday 19th June,
from 12noon to 6pm.
On Sunday 12th June at 4pm Heidi will open the show with an introduction to some of the
printing techniques she uses in her work and she will talk about how she plays with them, with an aim to make Fine Art Printmaking better known to the wider public.
Heidi has lived in Ireland for 28 years, and studied for a Diploma in Art and Design at GMIT,
as a mature student. Here she was introduced to the art of print making and is a member of the Galway Print Studio (GPS) and KAVA. Prior to moving to Ireland she worked as a window-dresser, then studied Art Education and worked for 15 years in Secondary Schools teaching art.
